What are the precautions for the use of thermally conductive silicone sheets?

Release time:2025-12-09

The core precautions focus on 5 points: (1) Clean the surface: Before use, use anhydrous ethanol and other cleaning agents to remove oil and dust on the surface of the heat dissipation substrate (chip, heat sink) to avoid impurities affecting the thermal conductivity efficiency; (2) Control the thickness: Choose the appropriate thickness (usually 0.5-5mm) according to the heat dissipation gap, too thick will reduce the thermal conductivity effect, and too thin can easily lead to insufficient contact; (3) Avoid over-extrusion: Apply uniform pressure during installation to ensure a complete fit, excessive squeezing will damage the structure of the silicone sheet and affect the thermal conduction; (4) Reuse is prohibited: the silicone sheet will form close contact with the substrate after bonding, and impurities are easy to remain on the surface after disassembly, and repeated use will greatly reduce the performance. (5) Standardized storage: It should be sealed and stored in a cool and dry environment, avoiding moisture, high temperature or direct sunlight to prevent the aging and viscosity of the silicone sheet.
